First Nature Foundation is facilitating a grief support group called Parents And Spouses Of Suicide, or PASOS for short. Dealing with the suicide of a loved one can be difficult and isolating, and we want to provide help for those navigating this time of grief.
We meet virtually through Zoom in order to serve both local and distant participants. This group meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm EST/US. The group is facilitated and supported by Michele Rosa Kratochvil, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with grief counseling experience.
Kerul started PASOS in 2020 when she was trying to make sense of her husband's suicide in July 2020. She wants to help others who are dealing with the after effects of choices their loved ones made to end their lives.
If you are interested in participating as a parent or spouse of suicide, please fill out the form available here, or email the information to kerul@firstnaturefoundation.org, or fax it to 407-957-4814. If you have any questions or concerns, please email or call Kerul (407-957-1494) at the contact above!
Testimonials:
"PASOS has given me desperately needed help and support. I lost a wonderful son to suicide. After that occurred, I had no idea how to handle anything in my life, grief was overwhelming. It has been a blessing that I found PASOS. The support, kind words, and mutual feelings expressed between participants has truly helped me. Thank you Kerul, Michele, and First Nature Foundation for facilitating PASOS." -member of PASOS since 2022
"Losing my son at 24 years young has been devastating for me. PASOS group support has been a comforting gathering. Knowing that others have similar feelings and/or behaviors for these tragic losses. Everyone is very friendly and supportive. You only share what and when you are able. Thank you to Kerul for initiating and maintaining the PASOS Group!!" - N.M. member since 2023
"I have lived with anxiety my whole life, so I was a little nervous starting out with the group. Everyone was so open and warm that I know that I'll speak up more at future meetings but was thankful for the chance to talk at all with all of you and to hear what everyone had to share." - P.L. member since 2024
